Piecing at Picacho
An annual Camping charity event benefiting Quilts for kids
2013-present
As a member of a local RV group, I've spent the past New Years with 50 other trailers. Not wanting to sit during the entire gathering, I began a charity sew-in to benefit Quilts for Kids. With very limited electrical access, I set up sewing stations and ironing spots and "piece" or sew together donated fabrics or kits. The resulting quilt tops then get completed into lap-size quilts ready for donated through Quilts for Kids.
Presentations given to local quilt guild as well as the general public on the modern quilt movement. In addition to a power point program, these events often include a trunk show of my work with explanation of how my quilting has evolved.

Not your Mama's Quilting

A co-sponsored group in conjunction with the Scottsdale Public Library. This gathering met once per month to share information and projects related to Modern Quilting. I introduce topics as well as provided demos of current trends and techniques used often in contemporary quilting.
