"light Up and Celebrate!!!
Using my original pattern, "LIGHT UP AND CELEBRATE", this class is a way to take your own crayon drawing and make it your own! Not one is alike! Piece a mini quilt using scraps or selected fabric to celebrate every festival! Be adventurous and use specialty fabric for this great "use again and again" pattern! One hard copy pattern included for each student. 3 hour minimum.
Make your own fabric - Improvisational piecing
This class will transform your thinking about piecing!
Through a series of easy cutting and sewing strategies, a bag of scraps or cherished fabrics from a leftover project will be transformed into an original fat quarter to be used in yet another project!!
Quilters spend an enormous amount of time and effort choosing fabrics and prints and combine these for a truly stunning quilt. Having to separate that wonderful group is difficult which is why we have all those clear zipper bags holding those wonderful leftovers. But they all sit in a drawer! In this class they are rejuvenated! This 3 hour class can be combined with the 3 hour "Open Wide Zipper Pouch" class or the "Mira Mira Zippy Pouch for a great workshop day. Trunk show available during the lunch hour.
Just around the bend - Making curves fun!
Curves? Who me? Take away the fear of curves! Let your shoulders relax! Breathe! Curves are fun!
We will explore curves and practice making strips, improvisational drunkard's path and many other variations. Finish with a wonderful project such a table runner, apron, or even the beginning of a quilt! 3 hour minimum
english Paper Piecing - Hexie-a-go-go
Looking for a contageous portable sewing project? An introduction to this extraordinary time honored slow stitching art! Learn how to create a hexagon pattern, prepare your fabric then baste and sew these wonderful shapes together. No matter how small or large, english paper piecing or "hexies" will become your "go to" hand project! 2 hour class
Stitch up sticks
The "sticks" technique is a quick way to transform a simple block of any size into an improvised and unique creation. In this class you can choose any fabric or scraps and create a mini quilt which can be completed at nine blocks or it can be multiplied in size to finish into a larger project!

QUILT As YOU GO -
A BLOOMing mini quilt
Want a quick, "looks like you spent hours"project? This great improvisational "quilt as you go" is a fabulous introduction to spontaneous easy quilting. You'll be hooked to this style of quilting at your first stitch! Come and complete as least one panel and I dare you not to begin another before the end of this "oh-so-fun" class! Bring extra supplies for a second one!!! 3 hours.
Crayon Drawing to Quilt Design
Learn how to take a simple crayon drawing and create a one-of-a kind quilt or pillow. Students will draw a simple design on graph paper then bring their drawing to life, so to speak. This free-piecing approach with a bit of sturcture shows how everyone can be a quilt pattern maker!
OPEN WIDE POUCH (Combo workshop day with Improv Piecing)
Often presented as a follow up class to "Make your own fabric", this fabulous zipper pouch by Anna Graham of Noodlehead 451 will be your "go to" pattern for gifts and for you! Adaptable in any size from very small for your ear buds or hearing aids to tote size with the addition of straps! You will never run out of ideas for this bag!
RAINY DAY QUILT
Imagine. An awesome, easy, fun, "looks complicated" lap quilt top in 2 hours!
With just two yards of complementary fabric, this is a fast pattern to put in your "go to" quilt pattern book!! And, of course, another great way to bust your stash!
